Creating a Custom Large Circle Logo Sign: Behind the Scenes

Creating a Custom Large Circle Logo Sign: Behind the Scenes

There’s something special about building a custom piece from scratch, especially when it involves working closely with a kind customer who truly values craftsmanship. One of our recent projects was a large circular sign featuring a logo with a tree design. It was a pleasure to create, and we wanted to share a bit of the process behind it.

From the beginning, we knew this sign was going to be something memorable. The customer had a clear vision, and we were excited to bring it to life. Because of the size and the significance of the logo, we wanted the wood to be just right. So we took a trip to our trusted local lumber mill here in New Brunswick to hand-pick the boards ourselves. We spent time sorting through the stacks to find pieces with the perfect grain and character to give the sign its unique, rustic charm.

Once back in the shop, we glued and shaped the wood into a large, smooth panel. The stain we used was Early American—a warm, classic finish that brings out the natural beauty of the pine. It gives the wood a rich tone without overpowering the design.

The tree logo was engraved into the surface with precision using our CNC machine. The clean lines of the engraving stood out beautifully against the stain, giving the whole piece a grounded, natural look—fitting for a design that features a tree.

To finish it off, we sealed the sign with spar urethane. This not only enhances the color and grain but also adds protection against the elements, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor display.

Working on this sign reminded us why we love what we do. Each piece tells a story—from the selection of the wood to the final coat of finish. And when we get to work with wonderful people along the way, it makes the process even more rewarding.

If you’re thinking about a custom sign for your business, property, or event, we’d be happy to help bring your vision to life.
